Fans don’t like it, but changes are often required with even the best of these devices. We identified two significant component changes in the iPod touch. First is the manufacturer of the NAND Flash memory. The 8-GB iPod touch contains Micron NAND Flash. Previously the memory was being supplied by Samsung, while the iPhone 3G is using Toshiba.

Other than the memory, the inclusion of the Broadcom BCM4325 is seemingly notable. This is a low-power 802.11 a/b/g with Bluetooth 2.1 + enhanced data rate (EDR) and an FM receiver. This device provides the wireless connectivity to access Web sites, iTunes and apps store, and communicate with accessories like the Nike+ iPod Sensor (which does not need the Sports Kit when used with the second-generation iPod touch).

Apparently, Apple has not indicated that the iPod touch even had Bluetooth functionality. And though the Broadcom device has the capability, there are not, as yet, any applications to take advantage of this feature.

The users can  make lists of songs like they can with iPod. As for sound, the S3 offers fine audio. The company was thinking that it will be a banana for the users. The packaged headphones were low in quality which decreased the interest of users in music.

Apple is expected to show more cut offs for maintaining its monopoly in iPod industry especially in iPod music players. Although Apple is offering many benefits for consumers but more R&D and innovation is still required in the product so as to make it different from any other iPod available in the market nowadays.

An analyst at American Technology Research, Shaw Wu, told in his studies that iPods needs more technological advancement. They are costing higher than iPhones, which includes a cell phone and other features which are not included in the Touch. The Internet-ready iPod Touch starts at $299 in the United States as compared with $199 for an iPhone.
